Visiting the Urgent Care

Sedona had a fight with the stairs....
Stairs:1  Sedona: 0

We took our little precious into Urgent Care to have her looked at.  5 stitches and LOTS of screaming and crying later, we came home with an Angry Birds band-aid and some fancy new "pretties" on her face.
I am so thankful for people who are tougher than me and are willing to stitch up people's "owies."

Oh, did I mention Austin broke his finger yesterday? Playing football. Might have to have a pin put in his finger to put the chipped piece of bone back in place. No big deal. Dentists don't need their fingers. Argggg!!

I Love to See the Temple

I LOVE TO SEE THE TEMPLE
I love to see the Temple
I'm going there someday
To feel the Holy Spirit
To listen and to Pray.
For the Temple is a House of God
a Place of Love and Beauty.
I'll prepare myself while I am young.
This is my sacred duty.

I love to see the Temple
I'll go inside someday
I'll covenant with my Father,
I'll promise to obey.
For the Temple is a Holy Place
where we are sealed together.
As a Child of God I've learned this truth:
MY FAMILY IS FOREVER!!

Yesterday (Saturday) morning, Sedona attended her first Primary activity.  We walked from our apartment complex to the Temple.  There were about 15-20 kids and about half as many parents attending the little group.  It was such a neat experience. I'm glad I remembered to take pictures!!

We ended the activity with a light lunch and a lesson about Temples and why they are important.
It was such a great activity and I am so glad we went!

A Spoonful of Sugar...

The weekend of September 14th-15th was like a spoonful of sugar. A much needed spoonful, too.

This is how my day on Thursday started out:
I don't know who WOULDN'T LOVE this cuddly moment.

Friday morning, I headed off to Plesant Grove, UT to see this beautiful woman! Triest is the one true Gem from our summer in Indianapolis.  We became fast friends because at the time, we both needed one another. Triest is amazing. She has a wonderful husband, two beautiful little boys, and the singing voice of an angel.  She has a heart the size of Texas and and eyes that twinkle like stars. Her laughter and positive energy is so contagious and you can't help but feel like a million bucks when you spend time with her.  She truly is one of the most amazing women I know, and I am so blessed to call her my friend!

We spent time visiting and catching up on things until we took her boys to her husband and headed off for our night of girl fun! We ate at a Thai restraunt in PG and then drove into Orem to get dessert at The Chocolate. DELISH!! We ended our night chatting with her husband and taking fun pictures. So, here's to a fun night with a great girlfriend!

Saturday morning, I headed off to SLC for the wedding of my best friend since childhood; Brittney Petersen.  I got to see some of my dearest friends from high school, as well.  Kiana Gilmore and Jenn Anderson. It was soooo good to see them. They are such wonderful women and they are absolutely beautiful.  The wedding was wonderful, complete with Elder L.Tom Perry performing the sealing! Brittney was a stunning bride and her husband Mike was dashing.

My college roomies were also at the wedding: Kirsten and Aubs. We hit up the City Creek Shopping Center for a quick lunch at Kneaders and a great visit!

I returned home Saturday afternoon to spend the evening with this little rugrat!
This is her in all her adorableness on Sunday afternoon. She is so stinkin' cute!
....a heaping spoonful of sugar, if ya asked me!!

Coming up....

I went back to the college classroom today. Totally had my nervous emotion on high. Seriously.  I just have never really LOVED school.  Part of it is because I am a total perfectionist.  Nothing but an A is acceptable and I'm hard on myself when I don't get the A even when I did everything I could have done to do my best.  Makes my husband crazy. And me, too, really. I went to class today and actually really enjoyed it.  I am looking forward to learning everything that is lined-out in our class objectives.  I hope I can be more relaxed and just enjoy this experience and not worry so much about the perfect "A".

So why am I going back? I wrote about it earlier in the summer, but for any of you who have never read or don't remember why, it's because I want to start "chipping-away" at my next goal. I want to be a personal trainer that specializes in women's fitness.  But not just any fitness.  Pregnancy and fitness.  And then the fitness AFTER the pregnancy.

I'm re-hashing the subject because I am going to be starting a new blog for a future class assignment.  I was reading through my syllabus for the class and saw that I will be expected to have a blog that will be peer-reviewed and graded.  So, I'm totally excited about this and when I get it all set up I will be posting a link to it here on this blog.  Anyway, I'm totally excited about it and I hope y'all will read it and give me your input and ideas!

Wedding and a Baby Blessing

The first weekend back home was a great one! We had my little brother's wedding and a nephew's baby blessing to attend.  It was a really long weekend, but it was a great weekend!!

Sulli and Michelle are perfect for each other. Seriously. I am so glad to have Michelle be part of our family. I have been lucky to have her in Rexburg while Sulli was on his mission. I was able to start a relationship with her and get to know her a little better. I always said it would be hard for me to watch my brothers get married because I always felt there was no one out there "good enough" for them.  I think that's fairly normal for a sister to feel that way.  However, Michelle is better than "good enough."  I love her! She is so sweet and is so much fun. I think she is a great addition to our family and I hope her family feels the same way about Sulli.  Their wedding day was marvelous and I am so glad we were able to be there!

We did A LOT of driving over the weekend and Sedona did so well!! Really, she is becoming such a better traveler. We had her "show" (Beauty and the Beast) playing for her at all times and she was happy as a lark.  She rarely slept, but we are getting used to that.

On Sunday, we all (except for the honey-mooning Newly-weds) headed over to Fort Bridger for my nephew Brady's baby blessing.  I didn't get any pics of the kids playing together, and I am so mad about that! But, I did take a picture of Sedona asleep. At church. That never happens. Never. Seriously. I think she was an infant the last time that happened.  But here's proof that she was exhausted and that miracles DO happen!!

Back in the 'Burg

First things first. Sedona and I needed hair cuts sooooo badly and we were finally back where Traci could work her magic on our mops!

Sedona loves her Nala and her walks.  So, we went on a walk one morning and I got some super cute pics of her. Can I just say, it is nice to be back where we need a jacket in the mornings and evenings?

Our apartment complex is so nice. Our apartment's living space is pretty tiny, but overall it's clean and it has really nice appliances and fantastic storage space! I really like it here.  The complex has is own play equipment and Sedona LOVES to go and play every day.

I hate it when she falls asleep right when we are headed home from errands.  She thinks her 5-minute cat-nap was sufficient. Grrrr.....

Adjusting to a new place means we have some pretty long nights at first.  I woke up to go on a run and this is what I found:

This is what they looked like when I got back:
We are so excited to be back in Rexburg.  School starts this coming Monday and I think we are ready for it!

Randoms...

We headed back to OKC for three more weeks before moving back to Idaho.
Sedona loves soda and asks for it by name, "soloo....soloo..." over and over again. I'm not sure if it's cute or annoying, but it's proof that she knows what she wants and she usually always gets it.

We made one last trip to the Zoo and made it in time to see the giraffes get fed.  She looks fairly interested here, but when one of their LONG tongues got too close, she totally over it.

Those three weeks seemed to go by so slowly, but really, before we knew it we were on the airplane headed back to Idaho for good.  Here is some proof that she is getting better at sleeping in strange places...

She's a wild sleeper and often wakes up with some pretty amazing bed-head.

She's not sleeping in this pic, but she sure does love her Gizmo and takes any and every opportunity he gives her to snuggle with him!

Sedona is obsessed with teddy bears. Before the end of the first day at Mimi and Jojo's, she had collected four and needed ALL of them with her when it was time to rest.

We found this little horse at a consignment shop and thought she would LOVE it.  She did. But it didn't really love her.  She couldn't get the thing to move!! So, we tied Gizmo's leash around its neck and off we went!

This pic is her totally excited about the fact that she climbed up on that table all by herself!!
After 5 days in Caldwell, we loaded up the truck and made the last stretch of our journey to Rexburg!!
