About me....

Well, there's not much to say about me....I'm pretty simple and easy-going. Most people would say I'm actually quite boring yet so many of my loved ones are encouraging this whole blogging thing.....why? Okay, really...I am not so simple or boring. Easy-going yes, but I certainly haven't led what I would call the "cookie-cutter" life of a little Mormon girl. No, I haven't ever done anything bad or unmentionable, except wait until I'm 24 to get married....how dare I?!!!
I grew up in Cokeville, WY as the third of 8 kids born to Briant and Clyda Teichert. My two older sisters, Taffy and Tami, have blogs and so do many of my amazing cousins and I LOVE LOVE LOVE looking at them. It's somewhat addicting, I must admit. Anyway, back to the topic at hand....
I love sports and being outside. That's part of growing up in small town Wyoming and I'm so thankful for it. One of my most favorite places in the world is on top of Big Hill in Cokeville. I was so blessed to grow up in that beautiful valley with such beautiful people.
I graduated High School and reluctantly left my little town and went to WWCC in Rock Springs, WY. I spent one semester there when my sister Tami came home from Ecuador and encouraged me to to to UW in Laramie. (Taffy was now married and boring so I was the next best option.) So, I went to Laramie. After Laramie, Tami and I went to Alaska and spent our summer working on a tourist train that went from Anchorage to Fairbanks in two-day trips. I had a BLAST with all my cousins on the train and just playing up a storm!! I earned enough money to take advantage of a semester with BYU Provo in Nauvoo, IL.
So, I embarked on another adventure at yet ANOTHER school. Nauvoo was one of the best experiences of my life!! I had so much fun, learned a lot about myself and the gospel of Jesus Christ, and gained so many new friends along the way. While I was there, I got a crazy notion in my head that I wanted to be surrounded by LDS people ALL THE TIME so I applied to and was accepted at BYU-Idaho. I attended BYU-Idaho for a few years before leaving on my mission.
Yes.....a mission. I know, my life exhausts me too. Anyway, I served in the Arizona Phoenix Mission from June of 2006 until November of 2007. The best experience of my life up to this point!!! I loved my Mission President and all the people I served with and around. It was amazing! And....I gained another really good thing along the way but I'll save that for a later post.
At the moment, I live and work in Logan, UT on USU's Innovation Campus at InTech Collegiate High School. Let me tell you something....I have NEVER in my life been around so many kids who have absolutely ZERO coordination or athletic ability! It's a school for "brainy" kids who want to go to college "ahead of the game." Now let met tell you one other thing....I have also never been around so many kids whose hearts are so kind and caring for those around them. There are no "cliques" because there are no sports or extra-cirricular activities that create a separation among the students. It's different for me to be in a school where there's little or nothing to do when school is over, but I'm also grateful for the exposure to kids who truly care about everyone around them. That is the BEST part of my job.
So, now that I've bored you with my life, I'll have to remember to take some pictures and bring my camera equipment so I'm prepared to post something a little more interesting.
